Feasibility analysis on developing marginal oil fields with medium water depth in South China Sea by jack-up production and storage platform

Abstract: In order to accelerate the economic development of marginal oil fields with medium water depth of about 100 meters in the east of the South China Sea,the whole sea oil field development scheme of “integrated subsea template + jack-up production and storage platform + DP shuttle tanker” is proposed. The whole development equipment can be reused,thus reducing the cost of marginal oil field development. Based on the preliminary analysis of the foundation stability and structural strength of the jack-up production and storage platform,the key equipment in the development scheme,under the environmental conditions of the target sea area,the calculation results meet the requirements of the standard,showing that the jack-up production and storage platform can be adapted to the development of marginal oil fields with the water depth of 100 meters in the South China Sea.
