Abstract: During the construction stage of world-class scientific and technological journals of China,it is essential for publishers of China to learn the developmental strategies of world-class journals. This paper introduces the founding strategies and successful experience of Stem Cells,the first journal launched in the field of stem cells,including addressing the gap between disciplines,selecting the right members of the editorial board,rigorous peer review,active cooperation and comprehensive promotion,in order to provide helpful references for the international development of scientific and technological journals in the biomedical field in China.
