Abstract: The weight control of topsides is more and more strict,and using high-strength secondary beams instead of low-strength secondary beams is a feasible measure to reduce weight,but the effect of the application is often not obvious. According to the structure check codes,the allowable bending stress of commonly used secondary beams is given,and the changes in allowable bending stress after replacing high-strength secondary beams are compared. Suggestions are also made for their application in platform structures.
