Abstract: In order to understand the spread of the knowledge of “double carbon” in architecture,a nationwide survey was conducted on the knowledge and demand of “double carbon” in architecture. Through the analysis of the data,it is found that the public cognition of low-carbon buildings mainly focuses on residential and living areas, people of different ages, occupations and living environments have different needs for science popularization in terms of content preference, form selection, communication channels and facilities perfection. It is suggested that the science popularization of “dual carbon” in architecture should be differentiated, diversified, and normalized. Therefore,it is proposed that the science popularization of “dual carbon” in architecture should be guided by public cognition, implement classified science popularization strategies, and achieve accurate policies.

Key words: low-carbon buildings, needs for science popularization, public cognition, survey and research
