Abstract: Maize is widely planted in tropical and temperate regions of the world. Maize has high nutritional value and is an excellent food crop. It is also one of the indispensable raw materials for food, health care, light industry, chemical industry and so on. Hybrid maize was used as experimental material, and the effects of simulated drought stress on the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD),peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) in the ear leaves and roots of hybrid maize were analyzed. The results show that with the increase of drought stress, the activities of SOD,POD and CAT in the ear leaves and roots of hybrid maize are gradually increased. The SOD activity of maize roots is higher than that of ear leaves in the control group and under various drought stress conditions. The POD activity of maize roots is higher than that of ear leaves in the control group and under various drought stress conditions. The CAT activity of maize ear leaves of is higher than that of roots in the control group and under various drought stress conditions.
