Abstract: Zoo science popularization education plays a very important role in disseminating animal protection knowledge to the public,enhancing public animal protection concepts,and stimulating public active participation in animal protection behavior. It has become an important task for relocation protection institutions such as zoos in China in the new era. The current science popularization education work carried out by Tianjin Zoo are analyzed and elaborated,including the display of science popularization facilities,publicity of science popularization information,interactive experience projects,and expanded classroom education. Based on the development of the times and public needs,this paper explores and studies how to effectively enhance the science popularization education function of zoos,and puts forward the following suggestions：First,improve the construction of the animal exhibition areas; Second,cover the entire area of science popularization and participate in social co-construction;Third,innovate the form of science popularization education and meticulously create brand projects;Fourth,expand external exchanges and cooperation,and enhance social influence.
