Practice and Exploration of Formative Evaluation Based on Information Technology —Taking Database System and Application Course as an Example

Abstract: In the context of information technology,the establishment of a process-based formative evaluation system to scientifically and reasonably evaluate teaching effectiveness is discussed. Based on information technology,a learning platform is designed,and students from Class 1 to 3,Grade 2021,majoring in “Computer Science and Technology”, Guangdong Technology College,were selected as the experimental group,and students from Class 4 to 6 were selected as the control group. Formative evaluation and summative evaluation were used to compare the learning effects of the two groups of students in “database systems and applications”,and data was recorded. The results show that the total score of the experimental group is significantly higher than that of the control group,the excellent rate is higher than that of the control group,and the failure rate is lower than that of the control group. From the analysis of student learning data records,information-based formative evaluation in teaching can help stimulate learning interest,promote self-study,improve innovative thinking and other abilities,and meet the overall demand for cultivating innovative talents in China.
