Finite Element Analysis of Welding Deformation of Side Beam of Locomotive and Rolling Stock Bogie Frame

Abstract: The multi-layer and multi-channel welding deformation of the side beam of the locomotive and rolling stock bogie frame is simulated. An intrinsic strain method named of first local and then whole finite element analysis is proposed. The inherent strain of the local typical joint is obtained through the thermal elastoplastic finite element analysis,and applied to the large structure,thus simplifying the calculation process. The coincidence between the simulation results and the measured results is up to 80%,which proves that this method can quickly and accurately simulate the welding deformation of large components.
