Abstract: The characteristics of sea level anomaly (SLA) in the Northwest Pacific Ocean and mesoscale oceanic cold eddy near the typhoon path during Super Typhoon “Lekima” were analyzed. The results show that:(1) The SLA was mainly positive in the Northwest Pacific Ocean during “Lekima”,the value of negative SLA closed area C1 decreased and the scope expanded, the change of negative SLA closed area C2 was not obvious. (2) “Lekima” traversed mesoscale cold eddy CE1 at the speed of 6.4-10.8 km/h,the intensity and scope of CE1 were strengthened during and after the displacement, the maximum SLA was -19.6 cm. It quickly moved near the east of CE2 at the speed of 13.9-20.4 km/h,the intensity and scope of CE2 didn’t change significantly. (3) CE1 and CE2 were both located in the forcing region of “Lekima”,it had long influence on CE1 about 18-42 hours which increased the intensity and scope of CE1,but had no obvious effect on CE2.
