Research on Science Popularization Strategy of Urban Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction from Perspective of Resilient Community

Abstract: In the face of earthquake disasters,the role of the community has received increasing attention. A survey was conducted on the awareness and response ability to earthquake prevention and disaster reduction of residents in three communities within the urban area of Tianjin in terms of the status of community earthquake prevention and disaster reduction science popularization work,the disaster reduction and response behaviors of community residents,and their expectations for the content and form of earthquake disaster science popularization. The interaction mechanism between earthquake disasters and communities is analyzed from the perspective of community resilience. The results show that there is still a lack of emergency preparedness organization and evacuation awareness at the community level. Residents are more recognized for the emergency organization ability of the community. Residents generally lack practical experience in self- rescue and mutual rescue,and have a strong willingness to participate in emergency drills. Based on this,the popularization strategy of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction at the community level is proposed.
