Quantitative Analysis of Output of Funded Papers in Plant Fiber Sciences in China from 2011 to 2020

Abstract: A total of 464 fund-sponsored papers published in Plant Fiber Sciences in China from 2011 to 2020 were retrieved by CNKI. The 464 fund-sponsored papers were analyzed statistically from the perspectives of the ratio,the topicdistribution,the subject distribution,the author distribution,the organization distribution,the fund distribution and the regional distribution of fund-sponsored papers. The results showed that a total of 668 papers were published in Plant Fiber Sciences in China from 2011 to 2020,which included 464 fund-sponsored papers,accounting for 69.46%,and the number of fund-sponsored papers showed an increasing trend. The main topics of the fund-sponsored papers are industrial hemp,new varieties,germplasm resources,etc. The subject with the largest number of fund-sponsored papers is crops,with 326 papers,accounting for 70.26% of the total number of fund-sponsored papers. The authors are mainly from the Institute of Bast Fiber Crops of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences,Institute of Economic Crops of Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Hunan Agricultural University. Hunan and Heilongjiang provinces have the highest number of published papers,accounting for 46.77% and 18.10% of the total fund-sponsored papers respectively. Among the fund-sponsored papers≥10,there are 97 national papers,accounting for 20.91% of the total,and 83 provincial and ministerial papers,accounting for 17.89% of the total. This study helps to have a continuous understanding of the status of the fund-sponsored papers in this journal and then evaluate scientifically the informational capability of this journal. In addition,this paper also provides a reference for improving the quality of the journal and expanding its influence.
