Abstract: The oil separator is an indispensable key piece of equipment in the power system of offshore platforms,and its performance directly affects the operational reliability of the main engine. Taking the German GEA Westfalia oil separator as an example,this paper introduces the structural composition and working principle of common oil separators,describes the oil separation process,and discusses the common faults of oil separators and their corresponding treatment methods.
