Abstract: State key laboratories in universities are important bases for organizing high-level basic research and applied basic research,gathering and cultivating outstanding scientists,and conducting academic exchanges. The article combs out some problems existing in the construction and management of state key laboratories in universities,including vague laboratory characteristics and positioning,gaps in innovation ability,challenges in team building,insufficient role of talent cultivation,and open cooperation efforts to be improved. Practical approaches such as refining research directions,strengthening team building,improving management personnel allocation,playing a role in educating people,expanding open exchanges,and enhancing cultural construction are proposed,aiming to promote the key laboratory construction.
