Abstract: In recent years,China's science and technology journals are facing severe challenges. To improve the quality of journals and build high-quality journals has become the common goal of the periodical circle. Starting from the advantages of the youth editorial board members,combined with practical experience,this paper discusses their role in the development of journals from the aspects of review,solicitation,and journal promotion. The inclusion of youth editorial board members in journals can stimulate the vitality of the editorial board as a gatekeeper of academic quality. The editorial department can build an academic exchange platform for youth editorial board members to enhance their academic influence,and motivate them to grow together with the journal by launching various measures. Therefore,some problems need to be paid attention to when building and managing the team of youth editorial board members are put forward.
