Abstract: The flue gas-assisted steam thermal recovery development refers to injecting the flue gas generated during the steam injection process of heavy oil thermal recovery into the formation. This method can not only improve the development effect of heavy oil but also reduce CO2 emissions, making it a green development technology for heavy oil. Based on solubility tests, the effects of crude oil components, temperature, pressure, and N2 content on the dissolution and sequestration of CO2 in flue gas were determined. The results show that as the N2 content increases, the solubility of CO2 decreases significantly. The results of the rock sample-flue gas-formation water reaction test indicate that the lower the temperature and the higher the pressure, the higher the amount of mineralization and sequestration of CO2 in formation water. Core displacement tests demonstrate that the amount of CO2 bound and sequestered in flue gas increases with the rise in crude oil viscosity and decreases with the increase in permeability.
