Abstract: The landing gear system plays a crucial role in the takeoff and landing performance,safety,and reliability of aircraft. Against the backdrop of increasingly fierce technological competition in the global large aircraft landing gear market,this study sorts out the landing gear suppliers for major civil large aircraft models worldwide,retrieves relevant patent data using the HimmPat Global Patent Database,and analyzes the patent status of suppliers such as Safran Landing Systems Corporation,Goodrich Corporation,Liebherr Group,AVIC Aircraft Landing Gear Co.,Ltd.,and Xi’an Aviation Brake Technology Co.,Ltd. from dimensions including time,type,geographical distribution,and technical distribution. The study findings indicate that foreign suppliers have an early start and solid technical accumulation,and their patent layouts are phased,localized （with a focus on developed countries）,and concentrated on core technical fields. Although domestic suppliers have seen growth in patent applications in recent years,they are still in the initial stage overall. Based on the analysis results,development countermeasures are proposed for Chinese suppliers,such as strengthening core technology R&D,improving patent quality,expanding overseas markets,paying attention to industry trends,formulating long-term plans,and learning from international experience.
