Abstract: Since the fall armyworm （Spodoptera frugiperda） invaded China in 2018,the Central No. 1 Document has continuously proposed requirements for preventing and controlling major plant diseases and insect pests such as the fall armyworm for three consecutive years. Academic journals of plant protection have responded quickly by planning special columns and using online first publication to quickly publish relevant scientific research achievements. Combined with the work practice in the journal Plant Protection,this paper discusses the work strategies of academic journals in serving the national agricultural strategic needs,so as to provide references for the future development of academic journals of plant protection.
