英文科技期刊投稿量激增的应对方法——以Food Bioscience为例

Strategies for managing a surge in submissions to English science and technology journals: case study of Food Bioscience

摘要： 期刊投稿量激增而编辑人手不足是国内科技期刊经历高速发展后即将面临的现实问题,从学术编辑、作者、期刊编辑3个维度出发,提出解决方案：通过适度调高初审拒稿率、为学术编辑提供审稿辅助、邀请客座编辑分担审稿工作等方法,达到调控学术编辑工作量的目的;通过加快拒稿速度、尽早退修影响评阅之处、妥善处理被拒稿件、重视作者的需求等方法,提升作者的投稿体验;通过动态调配工作和重视个人与工作的契合度,提升期刊编辑的工作效率。在编辑部人员相对不足的背景下,实现优质稿件资源与审稿效率的双重提升。

Abstract: The rapid increase in submission volume coupled with insufficient editorial staff represents an imminent practical challenge for domestic journals in the aftermath of their rapid development. This paper approaches the issue from three dimensions：academic editors,authors,and journal editors. Possible solutions include：improving the rejection rate in the technical check to manage the workload of academic editors,providing assistance to academic editors in manuscript handling process,promptly addressing format issues that affect peer review,careful handling of rejected manuscripts,and prioritizing the needs of authors. These practices can enhance the submission experience for authors. Dynamic work allocation and emphasizing alignment between individual aspirations and job requirements can improve work efficiency of journal editors. Employing these solutions can yield a dual enhancement in the quality of manuscript resources and the efficiency of the review process,even when editorial staff is insufficient.
